Amaju Melvin Pinnick, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, has restated his backing for embattled head coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr despite increasing calls for the immediate dismissal of the German.
Former Nigerian goalkeeper Dosu Joseph has urged the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr not to experiment with the team’s lineup against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
The three-time Africa Cup of Nations champions are expected to face Cameroon today in an international friendly game as part of the preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Gernot Rohr remains unbeaten against the Indomitable Lions and he’ll want to preserve his unbeaten run against the Central African nation. The last time the two teams met, Nigeria defeated Cameroon 3-2 in the Round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking with newsmen, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist, advised the German tactician to commence the game with his starting eleven and not experiment with the team.
“We’re definitely going to enjoy an explosive encounter against Cameroon considering the rivalry between the two teams.
“This is not a game where Rohr must experiment with his starting eleven but he should ensure that the best players start the game.”
