Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has lost his re-election bid to his closest rival, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) declares the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Ademola Adeleke as Osun Gov-elect.

The PDP’s candidate secured 403,371 votes defeating Oyetola, who trailed behind with 375,027 votes.

According to the result announced by INEC on Sunday, Adeleke won in 17 local government areas (LGAs) of the State. Oyetola however won in 13 LGAs.

“Light has come to Osun. Congratulations, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, on a well-fought victory.
