Sen. Godswill Akpabio, the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, has reacted to what he called “a cornucopia of false, malicious, and libellous press interviews” granted by Ms. Gbene Joi Nuineh, the erstwhile Acting Managing Director of the Interim Management Committee, of the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC) in some news and social media platforms and a “series of concerted vicious campaigns of calumny deviously orchestrated by her” against his person.
Leaders under the auspices of the Niger Delta Movement for Development (NDMD) have flayed the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide for what they described as unwarranted and irresponsible attacks on the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, over the forensic audit report of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The Convener, NDMD, Victor Mathew, in a statement on Sunday, commended President Muhammadu Buhari and Akpabio for concluding the forensic audit of NDDC.
Mathew described the audit report submitted to President Buhari by Akpabio as thorough and far-reaching, saying the recommendations when implemented would reposition the commission to actualise its mandate.
