Barely a few days to the conduct of the state congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC) nationwide, leaders of the party in Oyo state have zoned the state chairmanship to Oke-Ogun Zone 1 in the new zoning template.

As the leaders also resolved that all elective positions, especially governor, deputy governor and Senate in the 2023 general elections are open to all the 33 local government areas of the state.

This was contained in a communique issued after a stakeholders’ meeting held on Wednesday at the Ibadan residence of a former Governor, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala.

It could be recalled that former Governor Alao-Akala, who is the chairman of Elders Advisory Committee, outgoing state Chairman, Chief Akin Oke and seven party zonal leaders had been mandated by the stakeholders to meet on the zoning template.

They agreed on a new sharing formula, having considered that all gladiators and party faithful should go into the state congress as a united team of democrats.
