Mrs Nelson, a former executive director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), died on Sunday at the age of 66.
APC’s spokesman in Lagos State, Mr. Seye Oladejo, confirmed the death, described it as, “tragic and very sad.”
She was one of the close loyalists of APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu. She also served as Executive Director of the Nigerian Social Investment Trust Fund during the first term of President Muhammadu Buhari. Chief Press Secretary to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Gboyega Akosile, also confirmed the death in a tweet.
She was a former Commissioner in Lagos State and until her demise, a member of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).
Mrs. Nelson one of the pillars of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole, said her death was a huge loss.
The APC has expressed sadness over the passing of Nelson. Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Yakubu Ajaka, in statement in Abuja, described Nelson’s death as a big loss to the APC family.
