Recording Academy has announced that the 2022 Grammy Awards has been rescheduled for April 2, 2022, after initial postponement.

Journalists had reported that the event, which was formerly slated to hold on January 31st, was postponed due to the rise in COVID-19 variant, Omicron.

Chief Executive Officer of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason, made this known in a statement.

He also revealed that the event which was usually held in Los Angeles will take place in Las Vegas for the first time.

The statement reads: “I’m so pleased to let you know that the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards have been rescheduled and will now be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday.
