Two instructor pilots have been killed when an aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) crashed in Kaduna State yesterday.

The pilots, both flight lieutenants, are said to have died at the 461 NAF hospital located within the base.

A source within the base who pleaded anonymity said, “I was in the office when I heard a loud sound and a minute after, I heard the ambulance rush out. We later learnt that a NAF plane crashed. I do not however know exactly where the plane crashed, but it is within the base.

“One of the pilots died on the spot while the other died at the 461 NAF hospital located on the base, it is such devastating news. The aircraft is usually used for training.”

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) had in 2017 taken delivery of five Super Mushsak aircraft from Pakistan to enhance its personnel training and operational efficiency.
